For those of you who are new to my life this page is filled with wonderful memories of my oldest daughter who past away on May 7th, 2001.
I want to share some of the pictures and memories I have of Shasta. I will try to write short stories with the pictures.
This is a picture of Shasta in her uniform (March 2001) when she worked for Sential properties in Reno. She worked as a leasing agent while she was attending UNR. We had to alter the skirt and jacket to fit. They were way to big. She really enjoyed her position with this company. She said it was much better than frying chicken.
When Shasta finished her Freshman year at UNR she quite her job at the title company and moved to Portola, CA with me. Portola was about a 40 minute drive from Reno. She could not find a job for two months and was very upset at being unemployed. She came to me one day and said, “I am going to get a job today and I do not care what it is”! Well that night she came home for dinner and announced she had a job! Frying Chicken at the mini mart in town. Now if you knew Shasta she did not like anything to do with raw meat. Anytime she handled it she would gag and her eyes would water. But she was not going to let that stop her. She hated not having a job so bad that she would handle raw chicken! She worked there for 2 months until she got the leasing job in Reno.
Here is Shasta standing in front of her Christmas tree before we cut it down. This was Christmas of 2000. First she only wanted a very small tree but after walking the mountain side not finding anything small that she liked she picked this tree. It was about 6 ft. tall. For many years we cut our own trees and we would wear those sill antlers. It was a lot of fun!
This was taken in October 2000 in my backyard in Reno.
She was so cute here. Look out first grade here I come! On this day we did get the curling iron stuck in her hair! He dad had to take the curling iron apart to get it out of her hair. It was a lot of drama!
Jessica, Shasta & Jeffrey June 1999 at Lovelock High School right before Shasta’s graduation.
Time for a bath! And not just a bath but a bubble bath! This was one of our favorite times of the day. This picture was taken in when we lived in Bridgeport, Ohio in 1985.
I have more pictures and more memories to share. I will try to update this page very soon!
